Air Arabia will operate direct flights from Alexandria to Abu Dhabi
Sharjah-based low-cost international carrier Air Arabia announced Monday the start of its direct flights from Alexandria in Egypt to Abu Dhabi.
The airline will fly to Abu Dhabi on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Flights will depart from Alexandria at 10pm and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 2.40am the following day, and return flights depart from Abu Dhabi at 3.20am and arrive in Alexandria at 6.20am the same day.
"Air Arabia is the 52nd airline company to start operations from Abu Dhabi International Airport," a person close to the developments at the Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) told Gulf News.
"Abu Dhabi represents Air Arabia's fifth destination from our one month old hub in Alexandria, Egypt, and we are confident of the strong demand for air travel between the two countries. Air Arabia will continue to offer best rates in the market along with the highest standards of service and value for money products," said Adel Ali, Air Arabia's Group Chief Executive Officer. "Air Arabia is the fifth new airline that ADAC has added to its portfolio this year and will be contributing to our continuing traffic growth.
"We look forward to seeing this route further develop since the Egyptian market as a whole has great potential," said Ahmad Al Haddabi, Senior Vice President of Operations at ADAC.
Air Arabia's shares on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) yesterday rose 1.52 per cent to Dh0.868. Air Arabia operates more than 65 routes from its three hubs in Sharjah, Casablanca and Alexandria.
The airline recently announced plans of launching its fourth hub in Amman.
