Korean Air Delays 787 Deliveries To 2016

Korean Air said it had revised a purchase agreement with Boeing to take delivery of 10 B787 Dreamliner aircraft starting from 2016, five years later than previously scheduled.

Boeing has said the first delivery of the long-delayed 787 is scheduled for the third quarter of this year, shrugging off concerns after a November electrical fire on a test flight threw the timing into doubt.

The revised timeline came after Korean Air held talks with the US aircraft company on the delivery schedule for the long-awaited Dreamliner.

KAL will also spend KRW719.3 billion won to buy two Boeing cargo planes, the company added.
