Qantas has revealed it will operate Airbus A320 aircraft for its new premium carrier, which will be based in Asia.

The carrier will have a separate name and branding from Qantas, with its base location yet to be announced.

"The new premium carrier will have the feel of a private jet," a Qantas spokesman said.

"As Qantas is still in negotiations with governments and investors on this project, we are unable to disclose the location for the carrier and the configuration of the aircraft," the spokesman added.
