Hello everyone.
This is an interesting topic for aviators - we see many different ideas and beliefs here.
For instance it is very common to include a small photo on Pilot-CVs in Europe but not so much in North America. Other regions it seems to depend on the pilot; some like it, some don't, and some aren't too sure how to re-size/attach them - and thus leave them out.
At PCC we believe it to be a matter of personal choice. If you want to include one - great, if not, that is great too.
The most important thing, from our perspective, is the picture itself. Make sure the photo is clear and professional. Also try to look the part of a professional pilot who is serious about his/her career. Definitely wear a nicely pressed white pilot-shirt with a navy or black tie. Hair should be cleancut. Smiles are good (shows personality) - just make sure tie is straight and you still look professional.
We hope that helps.
Each year we get thousands of resumes and cv's across our desks. We are amazed by how many that are poorly formatted, over two pages long, and many that include an unprofessional photo. In our opinion, any of these things can hinder your chances.
Remember - you only get 10 seconds to make a great impression with a CV/Resume. An unprofessional photo likely will help the recruitment staff make their decision in less than five seconds - and throw your documents into the 'recycling file'.
