General Pilot Training / Flight School information for Canada

Canada has the most diverse aviation industry in the world.

Canada has an airforce that employs military pilots to fly Helicopters, Fighter Jets like the CF-18 Hornet, SubMarine Search Specialists on the Aurora, and Transport Aircraft like the C-130 Hercules.

In addition Canada's vast arctic area consists of many small towns separated by hundreds of miles with almost no serviceable roads. This has resulted in a huge aviation industry on to itself in the Canadian north including Helicopters in the Diamond trade taking surveyors to various spots in the North West Territories, adaptable twin engine transports like the DHC6 Twin Otter that changes depending upon the season to a Seaplane with Floats for the summer months, Skis for the winter, and Tundra Tires for the unprepared strips it lands at the rest of the year. Beech 99's, Beech King Air's, Gulfstream 1 Turboprop's, Metroliners, etc you can spot up north moving Crews in and out of Oilfield communities.

On the west coast, the east coast, and in central Canada you will find a huge amount of Floatplanes or Seaplanes. DHC2 Beavers on Floats, DHC3 Single Otters on Floats, DHC6 Twin Otters on Floats, Beech 18's on Floats, Cessna 185F's, Cessna 206F's, and many more. Thes planes have many roles in their regions including taking tourists to fishing camps, taking food and supplies to remote communities, passenger charter services, Log Inspections on the west coast, and the occasional Medevac trip flying a critical ill patient from a remote town to a large urban center like Winnipeg, Vancouver, Halifax, etc.

The latest corporate jets are found at the major city airports across the country including Oil Booming Calgary and Edmonton, the financial centers of Toronto and Montreal, and the government center of Ottawa.

All of the latest and greatest airliners can be seen within Canada's airline industry.

The Helicopter Industry in Canada is quite large as well. Canadian Helicopters Corporation is based in Canada, but is the world's largest Helicopter Contracter and has Canadian helicopter crews flying around the world. In addition helicopters in Canada are kept busy in a number of roles; flying execs between downtown Vancouver, Victoria, and Seattle each day, helping Mining Companies up north go to new sites looking for ore samples, forestry and wildlife work, transporting oil crew workers between camps, providing medevacs straight to hospital landing pads, and much more.
