A regional airline used by Delta Air Lines and American Airlines plans to relocate hundreds of Minnesota-based employees to Seattle and Los Angeles.

Compass Airlines, headquartered at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, notified employees it will move all pilots, flight attendants and mechanics from the Twin Cities to the company’s other stations on the West Coast, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Most of the company's flights take place on the West Coast and the airline will continue to expand in that region. Compass Airlines will remain headquartered in Minneapolis, a spokesman said.

Compass flies for Delta as Delta Connection and for American Airlines as American Eagle.

Atlanta-based Delta is the second-largest carrier at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport after SeaTac-based Alaska Air Group Inc.

Delta is expanding its service from Seattle, including new flights to Chicago, and opened a $24 million Sky Club last year.
