Jet Linx Aviation, already among the largest charter and management firms in the U.S., is continuing its expansion with the opening of its 15th base. The company’s newest location in Chicago will provide aircraft management services and offer its membership programs. Jet Linx will serve all the airports in the Chicago area through a new terminal that is slated to soon open at Chicago Executive Airport (PWK).
"We see a great opportunity to offer Chicago the benefits of our unique service model,” said Jet Linx president and CEO Jamie Walker. “Local clients will enjoy our guaranteed jet card and aircraft management programs through the convenience and support of our local Chicago team."
Jet Linx has lined up a local investment group to pave the way for its new Jet Linx Chicago operation, including an investment from Christopher “Topher” Merrill, co-founder and CEO of Chicago-based real-estate private-equity firm Harrison Street. Merrill will serve as chairman of the new Jet Linx Chicago board. The investor group also includes Joe Shenton, a partner of investment firm Summit Trail Advisors who will also serve on the Jet Linx Chicago board.
Cameron Gowans, a 25-year business aviation veteran, will lead the new base. He joins Jet Linx from JetSuite, where he was vice president of sales and marketing. Gowans also has served as vice president of sales for North America West for Embraer.
Also joining Jet Linx's newest base as director of jet card sales is Katy Glynn, who brings 14 years of aviation experience to her new role. She has formerly served as president of the Chicago Area Business Aviation Association and currently is chairman of communications for the association. Her background includes experience in international aircraft sales, airport security, and unmanned systems operations.
The Chicago expansion follows the recent opening of a private terminal in Detroit. The expansion also has included the Northeast with new bases in New York and Boston.
